Words Their Way is a phonics based approach to teaching students spelling. Traditional spelling programs require that students memorize words for their weekly test. Words Their Way is a program that we can use from 3K-8th grade, to assist our students in building key phonics skills that will allow them to understand how letters make sounds, sounds make words, and how patterns within words are found within the English Language. Words Their Way’s approach is to help students become better readers and writers by teaching them concepts and patterns that they can apply to words. This is done at each scholar’s instructional level.
