My name is Ms. Tonia Walker and this will be my fifth year as the first grade teacher at Catholic East Elementary School.

I have been in the education field 14 years, the first seven as an Educational Assistant with MPS, then three years as a substitute teacher with MPS and the Archdiocese. I began my career here at Catholic East as an Educational Assistant in the 2nd grade classroom. In 2019, I entered into the Seton Residency Program that allows me to work on my Teacher Certification, and obtain my Masters Degree in Education. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University.

I was born in Indiana, and moved to Milwaukee at the age of 12. My four children are amazing - three adult sons, and one daughter who will start her freshman year at Clarke University in Dubuque, IA. I love to play softball, volleyball, and basketball. My favorite hobby is spending time with my family. Some of my favorite things include: coffee, veggie straws, almonds, grapes, watermelon and Cheez-its.

It is my goal to get to know all my scholars and their families on a personal level, provide each one of them with all the knowledge that I can give them, and travel on this journey together.
